Just because Mütterlein rules. Recent footage.
and, for good measure, from 2016:
From Zagreb, Croatia, with an ugly doom death demeaner stride Metuzalem. They cite influences from old school Peaceville - and, sure, you get early Paradise Lost and Anathema vibes but this is of a meaner, more diabolical disposition.
Suton is another Balkan atmospheric death doom outfit. Only one song to preview as of now and I’m sold. Reminds me a little bit of the Russian act Abysslooker - also affiliated with Satanath and Symbol of Domination Productions - and as it is one of my favorite releases of 2022, so, this Suton release could very well scratch a similar itch.
KENmode threatened a new EP, new song here. Get pummeled.
Once thought lost to obscurity… Italy’s The Turin Horse unleash a couple doses from Unsavory Impurities. And, lo and behold a third track has cropped up on GrindOnTheRoad.
Prolific Cali one man black metal war machine Devouring Famine recently unveiled the devouring phantoms. This time around there is a bit of Nouveau Gloaming to the music and that is always a positive in my book.
German post metal death doom outfit Moribund Mantras have …Of Fathomless Depths due in April. “Sinking - Floating” is the first track to preview.
I hadn’t noticed this act prior to a recent Ashenspire post, healthyliving . Similar in approach as Helium Horse Fly. Great female vocals, minimalist music straddling space between nightime birds The Gathering and Hydra Head/Translation Loss’s Mare.
Only because I can’t seem to do a post without a band out of Poland. The mission statement for Wesele’s Fine de siecle makes me think of Grey Aura. Music isn’t as out there as Grey Aura but it definitely shares dna with acts the label cites as placemarkers: Furia, Odraza, Srogosc.
Holy shit… get a glimpse of this Maudits footage. Outrageous. Parisian post metal instrumental demolition.
I have no idea why this popped up on my youtube feed last Sunday, but, I’m glad it did.
I’ve dropped this on facebook numerous occasions, the real deal Void. Freedom Has No Bounds offers a treasure trove of Philly shot footage and local artists.
